MisGen3 system for Integrated Coil Driver (ICD) ignition

misfire generator ICD

This new MisGen3 for ICD ignition is needed when direct connections to the primary coils are not possible, a prerequisite for using the original CCB. Instead, these ignition systems interpose a power transistor between each coil and the wiring external to the coil’s housing. Because these external wires contain only logic signals (to drive the power transistors), the ICD connection box must be inserted into them using a 2-wire connection per coil.

Because this version is newer than the original MisGen3, there are a few other minor enhancements as well, which are covered in the documention. One such change is the availability of an optional 28-pin Circular Plastic Connector as second set of inputs/outputs redundant with the banana jacks on the faceplate.
